In accordance with the payment terms in the contract, the purchase price is usually paid within 60 days from the date of delivery of the final decision on the permission to enter the title in the land registry, unless the contract specifies otherwise.
In the event that a motorist buys an electronic vignette at a Point of Sale - for example, a filling station, and after paying they discover that the license plate number or another data is incorrect, within 15 minutes they can ask the operator at the particular Point of Sale to correct it in the system.
If more than 15 minutes have passed in the meantime, they can ask for a change and/or correction in writing or electronically via the website www.eznamka.sk on the day of purchase.
Please, address your request to the selected Points of Sale in the regional cities, the list of which can be found here.
A complaint may be filed electronically in the Submit a Request, Suggestion, Complaint section, where you select Complaint in the drop-down menu and then choose Complaint of Data in the Vignette Payment Records.

The price is increased to 1.2 times the compensation.
Every motorist who has used a tolled section of a motorway or expressway without paying an electronic vignette and is not exempt from payment is marked as a potential offender by the control system.
Pursuant to the Act on Vignette, it is a duty of every motorist who wants to use a tolled section for their transport to have a paid e-Vignette.

In the Submit a Request, Suggestion, Complaint section, select Request in the drop-down menu and then select Change of Data in the Electronic Vignette Payment Records.
The electronic vignette is non-transferable, it is linked to a vehicle license number. Changing the data in the Vignette Payment Records is only possible if the vehicle license plate number changes, i.e. the car does not change. That means that it is possible to ask for a change in the Vignette Payment Records if the vehicle is being registered in the Register of Vehicles of the Slovak Republic from another district or from another state or when changing the vehicle license plates, which occurs when the plates are lost or stolen. Changing the data in the Vignette Payment Records is possible via the portal www.eznamka.sk or at the selected Points of Sale in the regional cities, for the list of them go to www.eznamka.sk. If a motorist correctly submits all the documents confirming the change of the license plate number, the process takes a maximum of 2 days, however, the change is normally made within one working day. In order to change the vehicle registration, the motorist is required to submit (as for the internet portal - to submit electronically) the documents proving the change of the vehicle license plate number, i.e. a photocopy of the original Vehicle Registration Certificate and a photocopy of the new Vehicle Registration Certificate.

If you are a holder of a parking permit for the severely disabled and you are registered, exemption from electronic vignette payment is applicable for the validity period of the parking permit for the severely disabled, or if there is a change in the applicable legislation.
As for an already registered vehicle, if the essential data required by law changes (the parking permit number, vehicle license plate number, residence, ID number, etc. ...), a new application for exemption from payment must be submitted.
After registering the vehicle, you can use tolled motorways even if there is no holder of a parking permit for the severely disabled in the vehicle. However, the condition is that the vehicle is properly registered as exempt from the electronic vignette payment.
In addition to the National Toll Collection Provider, the toll can also be collected by the EETS Provider with whom the carrier will have entered into a contract.
The start of operation of the new toll system will depend on the timing of the public tenders that are currently underway. That refers to the tenders for the Electronic Toll System and Toll Services. Once the winners are announced, the process of building the new toll system will start according to the planned schedule.
The tenders for the Electronic Toll System and the Toll Services have already been evaluated. In the first tender for the Electronic Toll System, the most advantageous bid was from the company CzechToll worth 13,7 million Eur without VAT. In the second tender for the Toll Services, the most advantageous bid was from CzechToll worth 28,7 million Eur without VAT.
The EETS service – European Electronic Toll Service - is the extension of the existing national toll systems by the possibility of toll payment with a single on-board unit and a single contract with a single EETS provider in several EU countries. It is an international service that will allow carriers to move across the particular EU countries more easily.
A single contract, single payment, single on-board unit throughout the European Union. The European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) simpliflies crossing borders and the payment system significantly.
EETS gives carriers the opportunity to move with only one OBE in several EU countries with no need to have multiple registrations and multiple OBUs. The international service helps with smooth crossing of borders, thus eliminating registration delays. Another advantage is the simplification of toll payment, since payment under a single contract in several countries in which the EETS provider operates at the same time will be possible. Payment of toll and fuel under one contract/fuel card is possible. By changing several national OBUs into a single OBE, the driver finally has fewer distracting elements at the steering wheel.
It depends on the particular EETS Provider and their scope of operation. Each EETS Provider has a list of the countries where they operate the EETS, which means that each country has several EETS Providers. However, the EETS service is only offered for the countries within the EU.
The OBU (On-BoardUnit) is the term for a classic national on-board unit, the OBE (On-BoardEquipment) means an EETS on-board unit for several countries.
European Electronic Toll Collection Service (EETS) was launched on 15 March 2024.
Accreditation with the first EETS providers should be completed towards the end of 2023. We expect the registration to be launched at that time.
Yes, if I want to use the EETS service, the OBU will have to be replaced by an OBE. It is assumed that each EETS Provider will have their own OBE.
No, it is not necessary. Payment of toll is mandatory, whether it is made through a National Provider or an EETS Provider, it is at the discretion of the carrier. Registration in EETS depends on the carrier's preferences, if the carrier wants to remain in the national system, he does not have to change anything.
Each EETS provider should have their own network of sales and contact points where registration should be possible.
The list of providers offering the EETS service in Slovakia can be found here:
The parameters of the toll system (the toll rates, charging range) remain the same for both the National Provider and the EETS Provider.
EETS is the European toll system which represents a certain superstructure over the national toll systems and offers selected toll payment services within several EU countries. The toll system that is in the tender process is a form of a National Toll System, which means that it will cover toll collection in the Slovak Republic, EETS support as well as other toll collection services outside the scope of EETS.
If a Slovak truck driver needs three on-board units (OBU) when driving from Slovakia to Germany (a Slovak, an Austrian, and a German OBU), he would need only one on-board equipment (OBE) with the EETS service. The OBE saves space on the windshield and it also saves time. The biggest advantage is that the carrier does not need to check the toll transactions for each country separately. He will have one contract and one invoice.
The registration for the EETS service is not mandatory for the carriers, they can continue to use the system of national toll payments. However, those who want to benefit from all the advantages will choose an EETS service provider – the providers also offer the possibility to pre-register.
The On-Board Equipment (OBE) will be provided by the EETS provider, all you need to do to use it in the vehicle is to plug the supplied cable into a 12V socket or a multiplug.
Individual EETS service providers have a different country coverage, detailed information can be found here: https://www.mytobezhranic.sk/poskytovatelia/
