Projekt modernizácie D2 pri Bratislave sa opäť rozbehol. Tento rok sa práce sústredia na úpravu stredového deliaceho pásu. Pre pokračovanie prác je nevyhnutné zaistiť demontáž štvorice portálov nad diaľnicou. Preto sú plánované dve nočné uzávery D2 počas posledného februárového víkendu.

Motorway tunnels form an integral part of a modern transport network. They simplify and speed up the traffic flow, and, in many cases, relieve residential areas of transit traffic. This was also confirmed by recent experience with the newly opened motorway tunnel, the longest in the V4 countries. The Višňové tunnel managed to relieve the congested roads in Žilina as well as the road below Strečno. However, driving through the tunnel has its specific features that require increased attention of drivers. By following the basic rules, the drivers themselves can contribute to a smooth and safe traffic flow. Therefore, Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”) would like to remind you of the five important rules to remember when passing through a motorway tunnel.

National Motorway Company warns drivers against fake websites selling electronic motorway vignettes. The customer pays, but receives no motorway vignette, while handing over his personal data to unknown fraudsters. NDS reminds the drivers that the only official website selling Slovak motorway vignettes is www.eznamka.sk.

Last year, NDS Motorway Patrol crews drove 2.8 million kilometres while assisting the drivers in need on motorways and expressways. In most cases, they removed obstacles from the road and provided assistance when traffic accidents occurred. In total, they intervened in more than 20 thousand cases, and their help was also needed on the newly opened section of the D1 motorway, including the Višňové tunnel.

Od začiatku októbra do začiatku tohto týždňa (10.1.) sme na údržbu ciest v správe NDS po celom Slovensku minuli už viac ako 22 000 ton chemického posypového materiálu. V našich skladoch sa nachádza ešte dostatočné množstvo materiálu, aby sme zvládli zvyšok zimy. Do terénu je v prípade potreby pripravených vyraziť 298 mechanizmov, z toho 20 nových sypačov.

Motorway workers in southwestern Slovakia experienced one of the most challenging nights in recent years. Complicated traffic conditions were caused by freezing rain and snow, as well as the temporary closure of the Hungarian M15 motorway to vehicles over 7.5 tons. On Monday night, motorway workers from motorway management and maintenance centres in Malacky, Bratislava, Galanta, and Trnava used dozens of heavy machines to spread hundreds of tons of gritting material, covering several thousand kilometres on motorway routes in one night.
